The suburbs of Tech Central are among the most diverse, inclusive neighbourhoods in Sydney, so naturally, we’re going BIG for the biggest global LGBTQIA+ festival, held here for the first time!
Tech Central, in partnership with South Eveleigh, is home to the ‘Love Pop’ inflatable art activation throughout Sydney WorldPride, as part of the Rainbow City celebrations.
Created by artist Matthew Aberline from the Beautiful and Useful Studio , ‘Love Pop’ features touchable over-sized snacks, including a carton of milk as a symbol of strength and bravery, and a ‘Crazy in Love’ treat box. The installation draws on the tradition of sharing food and breaking bread with family and friends, evoking the values of love, community, and diversity.
The installation also includes a series of activities, developed by award-winning writer Catherine Moore, to encourage viewers to spread fun, interactivity and playfulness with the exhibition.
South Eveleigh will also be celebrating Pride with a DJ on Saturday nights from 6.30-9.30pm at BrewDog, located just across from Love Pop.
Come and visit the Love Pop installation at Innovation Square, share a photo, tag @techcentral and spread the love!
Join us at Stone & Chalk scaleup hub, 23 February from 5pm along with hub residents, founders and the broader startup and tech innovation ecosystem for a night of fun, laughs, drinks & nibbles.

Many of our partners at Tech Central are running shows, exhibits, events and celebrations during Sydney WorldPride. Many are free, several are deeply insightful and all do a wonderful job of celebrating Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ community throughout this massive global festival.
